Stuffed Hot Pepper Dip


Ingredients
  • 15 oz. Galbani® Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese
  • ½ cup Galbani® Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 3 Hungarian hot peppers
  • 2 links (12 oz.) Italian sausage, removed from casing
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (reserve 1/4 for the top)
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 pita breads

Directions

Cut the peppers in half, the long way, and remove the seeds.

Rough chop and place on a baking sheet.

Remove sausage casing, cut into approximately 1” same size pieces and put on same baking sheet.

Top with olive oil and bake at 400 degrees F for about 15 minutes until sausage is mostly cooked and peppers are soft.

Remove from oven.

In a bowl, combine sausage, peppers, ricotta, mayo, ¾ panko crumbs, garlic, salt and pepper to taste.

Add to a lightly greased 8×8 baking dish and top with leftover ¼ cup panko.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.

Serve with pita cut into triangles.

Tips

Add a cup of tomato sauce to make a creamy tomato hot pepper dip

Use sweet peppers if you are not a fan of spicy food
