Mozzarella Sticks 2 Ways

Traditional Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients

  • 6-8 pieces of Galbani string cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs

Directions

  • Place cheese in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before breading.
  • While cheese is freezing place 3 bowls next to each other, in the first bowl put flour, in middle bowl put milk and egg, whisk until blended, in third bowl bread crumbs.
  • Heat pan on medium heat (if oil is too hot the middle will be firm and outer part will burn.)
  • Remove from freezer and move to the flour, dredge in the flour move to egg wash, coat and move to bread crumbs.
  • Repeat egg wash and breading.
  • Move cheese to your pan and cook 1 minute on both sides.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite marinara sauce.

 

Mexican Fiesta Mozzarella Sticks

 

Ingredients

  • 6-8 pieces of Galbani string cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 Bags of nacho cheese chips

Directions

  • Place cheese in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before breading.
  • Place contents of chips in food processor and blend until smooth or place in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  • While cheese is freezing place 3 bowls next to each other, in the first bowl put flour, in middle bowl put milk and egg, whisk until blended, in third bowl nacho cheese chips
  • Heat pan on medium heat.
  • Remove from freezer and move to the flour, dredge in the flour move to egg wash, coat and move to the chips.
  • Repeat egg wash and chip coating
  • Move cheese to your pan and cook 1 minute on both sides.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite salsa, queso, or sour cream!
